More Setting

The city has existed since the state was first settled back hundreds of years ago.

Before the settleres arrived the area was colonized by the local natives, game and water being plentiful there. They had come to this new land over the land bridge from another continent. Their stone age weapons and tribal ways serving well in that time.

Much later, much much later the first covered wagons came and showed up with gold prospectors, farmers, preachers and assorted other miscreants and those fleeing from authorities.

Many decades, wars, depressions and upheavals later the city was firmly established. But some essential element was missing. The city had never gained a soul, so while it might live, it would never have a soul all its own.

Which lead up to the current ste of affairs.

Setting

The setting is a modern city, like houston, tampa, orlando, san diego, on the coast, most likely the pacific ocean, there is rail shipping,air freight, truck lines, etc. But stuff still comes in, goes out, there are major corps there, places that need people, employees, etc, but in many respects, outside of the city, few in america know it still exists. it is an oddity.

The city has docks, sewers, slums and million dollar mansions, not always side by side.

Introduction

The modern darkness, the spaces between life and somewhere else, between the modern world and what should have been in the past. Where things touch and intersect making for magic and mystery as well as espionage between the light and the many shades of grey and dark that exist here in the nameless major metropolitan city along the ocean.



A tall woman steps out from the darkness

Wrapped in her cloak of darkness as well as the red of blood along her long sleek limbs. The night air does not even raise goosebumps along her arms or legs. She continues into the darkness, cold glint of metal along her face in the sputtering street lamps.


Ceramic Jack walked along, the silent city streets redolent with the reek of the garbage collectors strike now in its third week. His long leather coat and bush hat has plenty of room to shed the water coming off the skyscrapers from the rain earlier that evening. His agenda includes a late night meeting with a potential source of information
